Nevill Golf Club

The Nevill Golf Course, located in Tunbridge Wells, was established in 1914, originally as a nine-hole course. Its first layout was crafted by Willie Park Junior, a distinguished architect known for designing the Sunningdale Old Course.

In the years following its inception, James Braid was brought in to design additional holes. Notably, he created a 550-yard hole, one of the longest in the area at the time.

Harry Colt, collaborating with Braid, contributed to the course's design in the 1920s. The course underwent significant changes during the Second World War when parts were used by the War Office.

Post-war, the course received a substantial redesign and rebuilding, funded by compensation from the War Office. In 1965, a major redesign was undertaken by Henry Cotton, a three-time Open Champion and former Ryder Cup captain.

This redesign by Cotton forms the foundation of the modern layout of the Nevill Golf Course. Today, the course is known as a hidden gem in Kent, appreciated for its quality and historical significance.

Visitors are welcome to play at Nevill Golf Club. Summer green fees, from April 1st to October 31st, are £85 for visitors without a member on weekdays after 12 noon. Winter green fees, from November 1st to March 31st, are £50 for visitors without a member on weekdays after 11am.

County card holders or members of the James Braid Society can play for £50 in the summer and £40 in the winter. Students pay £35, and juniors (under 18) receive a 50% discount off each category.
