New Zealand Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Surrey. The club was first formed in 1895.
The New Zealand Golf Club was established on land that was once part of the Royal Forest of Windsor and became open common land by the 18th century. It was acquired by Peter, 7th Lord King, under the Enclosure Act of 1815, and later inherited by his son who named the area New Zealand in the early 1850s, reflecting the family's connections to the colony.
In 1893, Hugh Fortescue Locke King, the landowner at the time, commissioned Samuel Mure Fergusson to design a private golf course on the property at Woodham. The New Zealand Golf Club officially opened on May 25, 1895, drawing its name from the earlier designation given to the land where the clubhouse now stands.
