Newquay Golf Club

Established in 1890, Newquay Golf Club features a course designed by Harry Colt, with a rich history marked by the Headland Riots of 1887 which inadvertently preserved the land for golf rather than housing development. The golf course has undergone considerable developments since its inception, including an expansion in 1908 enabled by a new lease from the Treffry Estate, improving it to its current size of 6000 yards.

Located along Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall, UK, Newquay Golf Club offers an 18-hole links-style course renowned for its strategic design and high-quality putting greens. The course challenges players with a par of 69, and its design strategically includes pot bunkers to demand precision in play, ensuring a rewarding experience for golfers at all levels.

The golf course's associated clubhouse, known as The Tower, was originally built for the Molesworth family in 1835 and eventually became the property of the golf club after being sold to the Treffry estate in 1906. Newquay Golf Club has also received royal attention, with Prince of Wales and Prince Albert (later King George VI) being honorary life members and frequent visitors in the early 20th century.

With a course open to members and visitors, Newquay Golf Club provides a variety of golfing experiences and maintains traditions that have created longstanding memories for its members. The meticulously designed course takes advantage of the dune landscape, ensuring it remains in excellent condition throughout the year.

Visitors are welcome. Twilight rates, between 4pm and 6pm, are available from March to October, excluding Fridays. Twilight tee times should be booked through the office or Pro Shop and paid for in advance if after 5pm. County Cards need to be shown when booking in.
