Northampton Golf Club

Northampton Golf Club was established in 1893 and moved to its present location, the historic Althorp Estate grounds, in 1990, celebrating its centenary three years thereafter. The old course, known as Kettering Road or The Hills & Hollows, was a 9-hole layout designed by Old Tom Morris in 1895, and later modified by Willie Park Jr and James Braid.

The current 18-hole course at Harlestone Park, designed by Donald Steele, opened in 1990 and has only seen subtle changes since then to enhance its estate land setting. The site was formerly occupied by Harlestone House, which was demolished in 1940, and is claimed to have inspired Jane Austen's Mansfield Park.

The clubhouse now stands where Harlestone House once was, offering views of Harlestone Lake. Northampton Golf Club's course is recognized as one of the premier golf facilities in Northants County and is known to provide an expansive and challenging experience for golfers.

Located on the outskirts of Northampton in Harlestone, the golf club features a championship 18-hole course. The clubhouse caters to a variety of events, and the professional staff is dedicated to ensuring an exceptional experience for guests.

Summer green fees (2025) are £70.00 for 18 holes Monday-Friday. Twilight rates (after 4 PM) are £45.00 Monday-Friday. County Card holders pay £45.00 Monday-Friday.
