Northcliffe Golf Club

Northcliffe Golf Club, established in 1921 and located in Shipley, West Yorkshire, has a rich history intertwined with the sport of golf that dates back to 1896 with the creation of a 9-hole course in the Northcliffe park area. The current golf course evolved from this original setup, with a significant contribution from Sir Norman Henry Rae MP, who was a key benefactor and helped extend the course to 18 holes.

The course was designed under the guidance of Harry Vardon and James Braid, premier golf course architects of their time, with the back 9 constructed over a ravine which became playable in 1923. Over the years, the layout of the course has largely remained faithful to Braid's original design from the 1920s, focusing on the heritage and playing principles envisioned by him, with the notable modern addition of the 18th hole relocated for enhanced playability.

Winter rates (November to March) start from £25.00 on weekdays. Summer rates (May to September) range from £40.00 on weekdays to £45.00 on weekends.
