Northwood Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Greater London. The club was first formed in 1891.
The Northwood Golf Club was established on April 25, 1891, originally as a nine-hole course on land known as The Gravel Pits. In 1920, it purchased the land's freehold and expanded to eighteen holes.
The first clubhouse, facing Rickmansworth Road, was completed by the end of 1894, and in 1972 almost completely rebuilt and extended. During both World Wars, parts of the course were used for agriculture and grazing, and by 1941 the clubhouse was requisitioned for military use.
In 1991, Northwood Golf Club celebrated its centenary by constructing a stone bridge over the stream by the first tee. Throughout the 21st century, the course has seen significant improvements with all greens relaid to USGA standards and bunkers reconstructed.
The course is characterized by its mature woodland and a brook that meanders throughout, presenting challenges typical of both parkland and links courses. The 6473-yard, par 71 course features undulating fairways and sweeping doglegs.
