Penrith Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Cumbria. The club was first formed in 1890.
Penrith Golf Course was established on May 13, 1890, on the former site of a racecourse, where originally nine holes were laid out. The current 18-hole course was officially opened on April 24, 1913, but experienced a period of suspension during the First World War when parts of it were used for food production.
Restoration and improvements to the course began in 1922, and a new clubhouse was constructed in 1936. Notable for its location on Beacon Hill offering views over the Lake District Fells, Penrith Golf Course is characterized as a long-established parkland course.
Visitors are welcome to Penrith Golf Hub. For 18 holes, it costs £40 on weekdays and £50 on weekends. Please contact the pro shop to book or enquire about tee times.
