Pike Hills Golf Club

Pike Hills Golf Club, initially known as Knavesmire Golf Club, was formed in 1904 and relocated to its current location in 1946 where it has evolved into a distinguished parkland course. Located approximately 2 miles southwest of York, the course is set around Askham Bog, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and exhibits an array of flora and fauna, including deer, squirrels, and birds.

The course measures 6,212 yards, featuring a par of 71, with tree-lined fairways and varying hole lengths that require strategic play and shot selection. Hazards such as ponds and dykes provide additional challenges, while the greens are known for their complexity, further testing golfers' skills.

A key historical element within the club is a stained glass window installed in 1982, designed by Sep Waugh and presented by Norman Allen. Additionally, Pike Hills houses an antique railway turret clock, installed in 1987 with a mechanism dating back to 1899, acquired from British Rail and is still operational to this day.

A publication titled 'A Golfing Odyssey', commemorating the club's centennial, was released in 2004. The text captures Pike Hills Golf Club's history, while club facilities and features maintain a connection to the area's heritage through elements like the stained glass window and the club clock.

Green fee rates are available on the homepage, by clicking through to “visitors online tee time booking”. Weekend rates are only available via online booking.
