Pontardawe Golf Club is a members' golf club, in South Wales. The club was first formed in 1924.
Pontardawe Golf Course was established by a group of local businessmen and enthusiasts in 1924, starting as a 9-hole layout before expanding to an 18-hole layout which was completed in 1968. Notable features include the course's upgrade from the initial layout and the mark of its completion by a round played by professional golfer Brian Huggett.
The course presents a semi-parkland style set 600 feet above sea level, measuring over 6100 yards with a par of 70, and challenges all levels of golfers. Significant enhancements over the years include the addition of a new lake at the 5th hole, expanded and refurbished clubhouse, and improved practice facilities.
Positioned in South Wales, the course offers panoramic views which includes the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountain to the north, and to the south, the Swansea Valley, Swansea Bay, Mumbles Head, and Bristol Channel. The 16th tee, known locally as 'the pulpit', offers golfers a distinctive perspective, with a view down to the green from 150 feet above.
