About: Portadown Golf Club

Portadown Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Armagh. The club was first formed in 1900.

Portadown Golf Club was established in 1900 and became affiliated with the Golfing Union of Ireland by 1905, with the Ladies Branch forming in 1910. The course traversed a number of locations before settling in its current location at Carrickblacker in 1934.

Originally a full 18-hole course, wartime necessities caused a temporary reduction to 9 holes; POW labor contributed to the maintenance and alteration of the course during this time, including the construction of the back 3rd tee. The course was restored to 18 holes with a new 9 opening in 1974, while the current clubhouse was inaugurated in February 1988 by Fred Daly.

The Portadown Golf Club is positioned 2 miles from Portadown and 20 miles from Belfast, featuring an 18 Hole, Par 70 parkland course. It is notable for a hole requiring a drive over the River Bann and maintains a clubhouse that provides amenities and services for members and visitors.

Visitors can play Monday to Friday for £28 or £38 on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays. Twilight rates after 6 pm are £20.

Contact the Pro Shop on (028) 3833 4655 for bookings.
