Roscrea Golf Club

Founded in 1892, Roscrea Golf Club is one of Ireland's oldest and underwent expansion to an 18-hole course in 1992. It is uniquely positioned with direct access off the main Dublin/Limerick (M7) Road and has been located at Derryvale since 1911.

The original nine-hole parkland course was extended to 18 holes of championship standard, designed by Dr. Arthur Spring, and features sand-based greens. Eleven new holes were added to complete the course for the club's centenary celebrations.

Roscrea Golf Club has been recognized for the quality of its greens and challenging layout, which offers a variety of obstacles for golfers. Notable aspects of the course include par-3 holes requiring shots over water and a par-4 15th hole with out-of-bounds on the left and trees to the right.

Among the course records, Dan Hogan managed to play 204 holes on August 4, 1978, which included 30 birdies and one eagle. Prior to this, Alfie Clarke set a record by playing 157 holes in one day and then surpassed his own record by playing 201 holes the following year.

Green fees are available from €35 during the week and €40 on weekends. Bookings can be made through the BRS booking system on the Roscrea Golf Club website.
