Sandy Lodge Golf Club

Sandy Lodge Golf Club was established in 1910, emerging from a vision by James Frances Markes to create a golf course with optimal conditions for year-round play. The course was officially opened on July 16th, 1910, with an exhibition match between Harry Vardon and James Braid, both prominent figures in the sport.

The golf course, designed by Harry Vardon, a six-time Open Championship winner, has retained its original layout since its inception. It is characterized by sandy soil, excellent drainage, and features such as crisp fairways, true and fast putting surfaces, and distinctive sleeper-faced bunkers, which provide various challenges to golfers across skill levels.

Located on the Moor Park estate, at the border of Hertfordshire and Middlesex, Sandy Lodge Golf Club is recognized as a premier golf course in the region. The club has hosted several prestigious events, including the English Senior Women's Championship and the Regional Open Qualifying rounds from 2015 to 2019.
