Scarborough North Cliff Golf Club

North Cliff Golf Club features a course designed by James Braid, a Scottish golfer and five-time winner of the Open Championship. The course presents a combination of coastal views and tree-lined parkland, offering a challenging experience on the northeast coast.

The first hole at North Cliff Golf Club offers views out to sea and across the bay to Scarborough Castle, starting as a short par 4 with strategic hazards. The course continues to deliver a variety of challenges, including long par fours and par fives, some playing into prevailing winds, others requiring precise shots due to water hazards, bunkering, and undulating fairways.

Holes four through six are framed by tree-lined fairways and provide views of the North York Moors and require strategic play to navigate the landscape effectively. The layout includes three par-5 holes on the front nine, where players must balance power and accuracy to score well.

Concluding holes like the 18th present a test of skill with potential distractions from the surrounding scenery and the proximity of out of bounds areas. Across the course, players encounter various elevations and dog legs, with the 12th green being perched at the highest point of the course, and the 17th hole often playing into the wind.

Winter rates are valid from 1st Nov to 31st March, with weekdays at £35 and weekends/bank holidays at £40. Summer rates, effective from 1st April to 31st October, are £50 (Mon-Thurs) or £55 (Fri-Sun/Bank Holidays).

A day ticket during the summer is £65 (Mon-Thurs) and £70 (Fri-Sun/Bank Holidays). Green fees include compulsory insurance. Junior visitors pay half the appropriate fee; a junior visiting with a member pays a quarter.
