Shirley Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Warwickshire. The club was first formed in 1955.
Shirley Golf Course was established following the successful bid for a pony-racing track by a group of Jewish businessmen, lawyers, and other professionals, led by Joseph Leek and his relatives Eric and Reginald Leek, in response to discriminatory membership practices at other golf clubs. The land purchase that led to the creation of the golf course was completed in 1955, driven by a vision to develop an inclusive "Welcome to All" golf club free from the prejudice experienced by the founders at other establishments.
Throughout its history, the ethos of Shirley Golf Course has been aligned with charity and community engagement, as evidenced by the involvement of its members in various charitable activities such as the Gentlemen's Night Out, which has raised millions for disadvantaged children, and initiatives supporting disabled individuals and guide dog services. The club's commitment to inclusivity and its role in philanthropy have been integral parts of its identity since inception.
