About: Shooters Hill Golf Club

Shooters Hill Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Greater London. The club was first formed in 1903.

Shooters Hill Golf Course was established in 1903 with a 3 hole course and expanded to a full 18 hole course designed by Willie Park in 1907. The course underwent significant remodeling in the 1930s directed by Messrs Harris and Colt, ensuring it remained a comprehensive test of golfing skill.

During World War II, the southernmost 9 holes were requisitioned for military use and part of the clubhouse served as headquarters for the Home Guard; the course also housed a Prisoner of War camp. The course made a recovery post-war and hosted a notable exhibition match in 1951 where Bobby Locke set a course record of 65.
