About: South Shields Golf Club

South Shields Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Durham. The club was first formed in 1893.

South Shields Golf Club was established in 1893 and is located on coastal heathland near Cleadon water tower. The course spans 6295 yards and was extended to its current size by Alister Mackenzie, posing a fair challenge to golfers of all skill levels.

The golf course is known for its high-quality greens and the limestone base contributes to excellent drainage, making the course playable throughout the year. Notable aspects of the course include views of the Tyne estuary, the Cheviot hills, and the Cleveland Hills, and an infrequent need for winter greens due to the exceptional course conditions.

Visitor rates are available at South Shields Golf Club. Weekday rates before 2pm are £31 per person and after 2pm are £29 per person. Weekend rates before 2pm are £36 per person and after 2pm are £34 per person.

County Card holders may play at the member guest rate, subject to availability and booking requirements.
