About: Southerndown Golf Club

Southerndown Golf Club is a members' golf club, in South Wales. The club was first formed in 1905.

The golf course at Southerndown Golf Club was established following the registration of the Ogmore Down Golfing Society on 21st August 1905. A local newspaper reported the foundation of the golf links on Ogmore Down, on land under the ownership of the Duchy of Lancaster, located between Southerndown village and the Ogmore and Ewenny rivers.

The course was planned through an initial capital raised and increased investment over the subsequent months. The first statutory general meeting was held on 12th December 1905, where it was confirmed that 135 shares had been allotted with a nominal share capital of 3,000 pounds, divided into 600 shares of 5 pounds each.

Standard green fees for 2025/2026 are £85 on weekdays and £110 on weekends. Juniors can play for £15 on weekdays and £25 on weekends. South Wales County Card holders can play for £50 on weekdays.

Group discounts are available for weekday bookings. Groups of 30 or more golfers can play for £70 per person on weekdays.
