Stratford on Avon Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Warwickshire. The club was first formed in 1894.
Stratford-on-Avon Golf Club was founded in 1894 and moved to its current location in 1924, where the course was designed by notable golf architect J.H. Taylor, a five-time winner of the Open, and co-designer F.G. Hawtree. The official opening of the course in 1928 was marked by a match involving Sam Ryder, Abe Mitchell—the figure depicted on the Ryder Cup—and three British Open champions.
The Second World War caused changes to the course as parts were repurposed for vegetable growing and gravel extraction, affecting the layout of holes 10, 16, and 17. The historically significant clubhouse was once an 18th-century barn, courtyard, and stables, which includes the distinctive barrel roof bar with an open fire enjoyed by Sam Ryder and past Ryder Cup players.
