Sutton Coldfield Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Warwickshire. The club was first formed in 1889.
Sutton Coldfield Golf Club was founded in 1889 – before John Ball's Open win at Prestwick. On the Cookie Jar Golf Podcast (Ep. 298, Aug 2024): "A 20-hole golf course in an urban park. Year of inception 1889 – that puts it in pretty small company. There's only a few clubs really in existence in the Midlands at the time." The same episode added: "Sutton Coldfield. What a place... Great par three, 15 – just looks every inch of a Mackenzie par 3, almost shades of that Sitwell Park look."
Dr Alister MacKenzie redesigned the course in the 1920s; it reopened in September 1934. The heathland layout sits in Sutton Park, a National Nature Reserve, with firm fairways and finely maintained greens. An independent ladies club formed in 1892 and merged back with the main club in 2019.
