About: The Cheshunt Golf Club
The Cheshunt Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Hertfordshire. The club was first formed in 1976.
The Cheshunt Park Golf Course was established in 1975, and The Cheshunt Golf Club followed shortly thereafter, being founded in May 1976. This course is set within the 232 acres of Cheshunt Park and according to the club was designed by "Donald Hawtree", (two big names in golf architecture, but not usually found together!) in 1971.
The clubhouse, now part of the golf club's facilities, was originally constructed in 1625 and was known as "Elm Farm Cottages". An extensive renovation was granted planning permission in February 1978 and was completed with the opening of the club's facilities in June 1979.
