The Essex Golf & Country Club

The Essex Golf and Country Club features an 18-hole championship golf course, which is a par 73 woodland course covering nearly 7,000 yards. The course has uniform terrain and is considered to have excellent drainage, with numerous water hazards that require precise play.

The course includes notably challenging holes, such as the 3rd (Par 4) and the signature 13th (Par 4), which has several bunkers and water hazards. The 18th hole, a par 5, ends the course with strategic water features that can impact the final shots.

In addition to the main course, The Essex also boasts a 9-hole Garden course, which is a par 33 parkland course designed for both beginners and skilled golfers seeking to refine their game. The 1st hole of this course is a challenging par 5 with water influencing the tee and second shots.

The golf course is part of The Club Company family and is set in the vicinity of Earls Colne, Colchester, Essex. Members benefit from reciprocal playing rights at 14 The Club Company clubs.
