The Shire Golf Club

The Shire London golf course was established following an agreement made in 2001, shortly after a visit by renowned golfer Severiano Ballesteros, who, alongside his Trajectory team, was tasked with the course's design. The course is situated north of London and is part of a project initiated by the Menai-Davis family to create a facility embodying excitement and accessibility in the game of golf.

Severiano Ballesteros applied his design expertise, which included the stipulations that the course should feature an even mix of par threes, fours, and fives, as well as avoiding consecutive holes with the same par. The resulting 18-hole Ballesteros Masters Course and the 9-hole Ballesteros Academy Course were completed in 2006, and The Shire London officially opened for play on July 2nd, 2007, becoming Ballesteros' only full course design in the UK.
