Wolstanton Golf Club

Wolstanton Golf Course was established during the winter of 1903/1904 as a 9-hole course on the parkland of Dimsdale Estate, which dates back to 1608. The property and the old Dimsdale Hall were acquired by the golf club in 1903, the hall later serving as the clubhouse after its redevelopment in the 1920s.

The golf course was extended to 14 holes in 1920 and then to a full 18-hole layout by 1925. The first recorded club competition occurred on 23rd May 1904, and the membership records from 1913 listed 96 men, 43 women, and 7 juniors as part of the club.

Golf at Wolstanton was temporarily halted in 1941 due to World War II when a Polish Army Battalion was billeted on the course. Following the war, the golf course continued to develop, successfully resisting a council acquisition for a public park in 1966.

The Wolstanton Golf Course, an 18-hole, par-68 layout, is notable for utilizing the terrain of the Old Dimsdale Hall parkland. Mature trees and rhododendron bushes feature prominently, posing both aesthetic qualities and challenges for golfers.

Green fees vary depending on the season. Summer rates are typically higher than winter rates. Twilight offer available after 4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
