Ham Manor is a parkland, 18 hole golf course in Sussex. The course first opened on this site in 1936.
Ham Manor Golf Course was established in 1936 on the site of an old manor, which dates back to the 16th century and became the clubhouse for the golf club. The land, originally known as the 'Manor of Hame', has historical significance with records dating back to the 11th century.
The course is located next to Angmering Roman Villa, where the remains of a Roman building were discovered during its construction. Notably, in 1940, a German aircraft crash-landed on the course during World War II, leading to the death of one pilot and the capture of another.
In 1962, the members of the club were offered the opportunity to purchase the club and its assets, which, after a campaign led by Captain E C Hoblyn, resulted in the formation of Ham Manor Golf Club Ltd in 1964. The club has continued operation under this entity, with all associated assets transferred to the new company during its first annual general meeting.
Located at West Drive, Angmering, West Sussex, the golf course has been the venue for notable matches, including one shortly after its inception where golfers of high acclaim competed, with Henry Cotton and Alf Padgham claiming victory over Reg Whitcombe and Jim Adams.
Visitors can book tee times online or by contacting the Pro Shop. Twilight rates are available from 4pm on weekdays and weekends.
County Card rates are available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday after 1pm.
