Ilford is a parkland, 18 hole golf course in Greater London. The course first opened on this site in 1907.
Ilford Golf Club, established in 1907, has been providing a venue for golfers for over 115 years. The original course was divided into two sections in 1984 by the construction of the A406, necessitating a foot bridge to connect the clubhouse with the remaining holes.
The course is designed to USGA standards and consists of 18 holes that offer a significant challenge to players of all levels. Among its features, the greens at Ilford Golf Club are known for their exceptional quality and consistency.
Recent changes to the Ilford Golf Club include the sale of the old clubhouse and the construction of a new prefabricated building located in the grounds of the car park area, offering modern facilities to members and guests. Additionally, a 'secret garden' inspired patio offers an outdoor space for relaxation during the warmer months.
In August 2018, cousins George and Mark Durrant both set a new course record on a par 68 within ten minutes of each other, scoring -6 (62) and equalling the record, highlighting the course as a setting for remarkable sporting achievements.
