Lanarkshire

Lanark (Lanark) is a parkland, 18 hole golf course in Lanarkshire. The course first opened on this site in 1851.
Lanark Golf Course was established on October 4, 1851, as the world's oldest 'inland' course and is recognized as the 25th oldest golf club globally. Originally, the course consisted of only six holes located on the Common Moor, property of the Royal Burgh of Lanark at that time.
In 1897, Tom Morris Sr. was commissioned to expand the course to 18 holes, which was completed at the cost of £3 and 10 shillings. James Braid later revised the course layout in 1927, creating the fundamental design that, except for the addition of longer tees and updated bunkering, has remained largely the same.
The course has maintained its original location on The Moor for over 170 years and has a strong historical connection with the military, being associated with the Cameronian Regiment. Notably, the mains bar was recently renamed the Cameronian Lounge in honor of this bond.
Lanark Golf Club acquired the course from the local District Council in 1995, having previously only owned the clubhouse land. It was not until 2008 that the club's constitution was amended to allow women to become full members of the club.
Green fees are structured by season. High season (May 1st to October 31st) rates are £80.00 per round. Winter rates (November 1st to April 30th) are £45.00 per round.
Twilight rates are available after 4 PM on weekdays for £60 and after 4 PM on Saturdays and 2 PM on Sundays for £80.00. Lanark residents can play for £35.00 with proof of address.
