Tenby is a links, 18 hole golf course in West Wales. The course first opened on this site in 1888.
Tenby Golf Club was established in 1888, with origins of its golf activity tracing back to at least 1875. The course was designed by James Braid, a five-time British Open Champion, and expanded to 18 holes in 1907, featuring a role as a founding member of the Welsh Golfing Union.
Located in a Victorian seaside resort, the Tenby course held its first competition on October 25, 1888, over nine holes, and by the next year, it had a membership of 44 individuals. Its first greenkeeper was photographed in 1888, and by 1908, prominent figures, including Prime Minister David Lloyd George, were captured in images against the course's notable Black Rock tee.
