Jack Nicklaus

Jack Nicklaus is an 18-time major champion and founder of Nicklaus Design, which has designed over 410 courses worldwide. On his design philosophy he stated: "I've never set up any golf course that would favor anybody. I try to make it exactly the opposite." He emphasized this when discussing Valhalla's modernization to accommodate modern driving distances. His most famous design is Muirfield Village in Ohio, which he called "my mark" and "what I feel the game of golf should be." When designing it he said: "I'd be surprised if the pros shoot many 65s... If a tournament professional plays really well on this course, he will shoot 67 or 68."
