Ron Kirby
Ron Kirby (1932–2023) was an American golf course architect with a five-decade career. He worked as design associate for Dick Wilson until 1963, then Robert Trent Jones Sr., founded his own firm in 1970 with Gary Player, and joined Nicklaus Design Services (1986–92) to oversee European projects. Kirby designed London Golf Club International, Old Head Golf Links (Ireland), La Moraleja (Spain), Sun City (South Africa), Dolphin Head (South Carolina), and courses in Italy, France, Denmark, Germany, and Austria. He passed away in Copenhagen in August 2023, aged 90.
