Simon Gidman

Simon Gidman is a British golf course architect who founded Simon Gidman Golf Architects in 1991. He began as a professional at Gerrard's Cross and Sonning, studied Landscape Architecture at Leeds Polytechnic, and joined Hawtree's in 1983. His approach combines golf understanding with technical site knowledge, emphasising nature conservation and ecological considerations for sustainable development. Gidman is a past President of EIGCA and former Vice President of BIGCA. Notable work includes The Centurion Club (UK top 100), Stover, and master planning in Dubai, Ajman, and Nigeria. He has lectured for the British Greenkeepers Association and English Golf Union.
